UMINEKO NO NAKU KORO NI CHIRU EPISODE 5: END OF THE GOLDEN WITCH

On the secluded island of Rokkenjima, owned by the rich and powerful Ushiromiya family, mysterious murders begin to occur as outlined on the epitaph of the Golden Witch Beatrice, whose existence has been continually denied by Battler Ushiromiya.

When Beatrice defaults a win against Battler, she loses the will to continue and withdraws. As Battler waits for her to awaken, the witches Bernkastel and Lambdadelta wreck havoc upon the game board and the fates of those on Rokkenjima. When Battler re-enters the game to take the game board back for Beatrice, he discovers the circumstances have changed.

In 1986, detective Erika Furudo has joined the inhabitants of Rokkenjima, approaching the murders from a "mystery" perspective in contrast to Battler's approach of "anti-fantasy" and denying magic. As Erika's investigation begins, the consequences of Natsuhi Ushiromiya's past actions regarding an offer from the family head, Kinzo, surface.

HIGANBANA NO SAKU YORU NI

Marie is trapped in a horrible situation. She's being constantly tormented by her classmates and regularly molested by her teacher. With nowhere else to turn, she finds herself asking for supernatural help from one of the seven demons of the seven mysteries of her school. Higanbana no Saku Yoru ni takes place in an unnamed school setting and is composed of numerous self-contained short stories, each told from the perspective of a student or staff member from the school. These stories feature bullying as a major overlying theme, as each story's protagonist is depicted as being either a victim of bullying or a bully themselves. Higanbana revolves around a series of urban legends caused by supernatural beings called y?kai, each of which claims ownership of a particular "mystery" and kills anyone who tries to investigate it. There are a total of seven "mysteries" at the start of the series, with numerous y?kai fighting each other in an ongoing turf war for ownership of these mysteries, which is granted to the seven y?kai who emerge victorious in the conflict. The stories' protagonists interact with at least one of the school's resident y?kai, who force the protagonists to deal with the consequences of their actions regarding bullying.

UMINEKO NO NAKU KORO NI CHIRU EPISODE 6: DAWN OF THE GOLDEN WITCH

On the secluded island of Rokkenjima, Battler Ushiromiya and his family were trapped and murdered under unusual circumstances attributed to Beatrice, the Golden Witch.

After continually challenging the existence of magic and powerful witches, Battler has become the Game Master of the board involving the mysterious events that occured. To prove his understanding of the mystery, he must defeat Erika Furudo, the detective and piece for the witch Bernkastel. Meanwhile, a childlike Beatrice, reborn through Battler's efforts, struggles to regain her former personality for Battler's sake.

As the new game begins, the unfolding events are brought into existence by two objective observers: the Witch of the Theatre, Featherine Augustus Aurora, and her chosen reader, Ange Ushiromiya, Battler's sister as she is in 1998.

On Rokkenjima in 1986, love becomes important to understanding the truth behind the events, particularly as it pertains to George and Jessica Ushiromiya, and the servants Shannon and Kanon.

UMINEKO NO NAKU KORO NI CHIRU EPISODE 7: REQUIEM OF THE GOLDEN WITCH

On October 1986, the members of the wealthy Ushiromiya family and a number of their servants mysteriously died. When rumours began to circulate regarding who was responsible, it was said that the Golden Witch Beatrice magically caused the tragic events to occur.

To reveal the truth behind what happened, the Witch of Miracles Bernkastel presents an alternate reality where Battler Ushiromiya does not come to Rokkenjima and the Golden Witch does not exist. Instead, the mystery child who was abandoned nineteen years ago has been designated the uncontested heir to the family as Lion Ushiromiya, whose existence holds the source of everything presented thus far.

To solve the mystery, Bernkastel brings Willard H. Wright, the reluctant former Head Inquisitor of the SSVD redemption agency, to the island as a detective to solve the mystery of Beatrice, including the origin of the legend of the Golden Witch and her true identity.

The eighth and concluding arc of the Umineko no Naku Koro ni Chiru series.

After losing her entire family as a result of the mysterious murders on Rokkenjima, Ange Ushiromiya is driven by loneliness to learn the truth behind their deaths. Dissatisfied with the conclusions suggested in the previous solutions, her brother Battler appears to a six-year-old version of Ange to fulfill her desire to join everyone on Rokkenjima.

As Battler and Beatrice open the gameboard one last time for Ange's sake, Ange soon becomes suspicious of the happy but inconsistent circumstances Battler has presented to her. In spite of the potential sorrow it will bring, Ange is determined to learn the truth and defeat the witches behind the events on Rokkenjima once and for all, even if it means defying Battler's wishes.
